    Surviving Work

(rules as they come to me)

    1. If a meeting has a specified end time, leave at that time, even if the meeting isn't over.
    2. If a meeting does not have a specified end time, call the meeting convener and ask when the meeting will end. Leave at the specified end time.
    3. Bring something to work on in case the meeting starts late.

    10 Weird Things About Me

10 Weird Things About Me (seen at New Kid):

    1. I am a slow eater. I am always the last person in a group to finish eating. Always. Even when I’m not talking at all.
    2. I completely lost my taste for spicy food after I got pregnant and have never regained it.
    3. I have no food or animal allergies, but I have severe allergies to several medications.
    4. My fingernails grow so fast I have to trim them at least once a week or they get freakishly long.
    5. When I was a kid, I ate pizza one layer at a time (first all the toppings, then all the cheese, then the tomato sauce, and finally the crust).
    6. I can remember dates and have a near photographic memory for things I’ve read but my memory for everything else is pretty crappy. I can generally remember something if I’ve written it down, even if I immediately throw out the paper on which I’ve written it.
    7. I was told after I had a brain hemorrhage in 1997 that I might never be able to read again.
    8. I don’t have cable and never have.
    9. I don’t have a scale and don’t know how much I weigh.
    10. When I get an idea about how to rearrange something, I feel a pressing need to rearrange immediately. For example, a year or so ago, I woke up in the middle of the night with an idea about how to reorganize the spices in the kitchen, so I got up immediately, reorganized the spices, and then went back to bed and slept soundly.
