Welcome.

Welcome to my blog. I am Liz Kleinfeld, Assistant Professor of English and Writing Center Director at Metropolitan State College of Denver. Here are 100 things about me that were true when I wrote the list in April 2006.

    Surviving Work

(rules as they come to me)

    1. If a meeting has a specified end time, leave at that time, even if the meeting isn't over.
    2. If a meeting does not have a specified end time, call the meeting convener and ask when the meeting will end. Leave at the specified end time.
    3. Bring something to work on in case the meeting starts late.

    8 random things about me

    posted Thursday, 5 July 2007

    As seen at Culture Cat.

    1. Humidity makes me cranky and makes my hair frizzy. Moving to dry Denver after living in humid places my whole life (Long Island, Virginia, Illinois) did wonders for both my hair and my overall mood. I never feel clean or well rested in a humid climate, no matter how many showers or naps I take.
    2. My dad dated a woman who was later convicted of murdering several husbands. (OK, it’s not about me directly, but it’s more interesting than anything I can think of about myself right now.)
    3. I used to always sleep on my stomach, but that changed when I got pregnant, of course. After Lily was born, I wasn’t comfortable on my stomach anymore and slept on my back or side for five years. Just a couple months ago, I started sleeping on my stomach again.
    4. I prefer to drink water without ice in it, although I want all my other cold beverages with ice.
    5. As far as I can remember, every person I ever dated played the guitar to some extent.
    6. I love blackberries, but can’t stand to eat them whole and raw because someone once told me a story about eating a whole raw blackberry and finding a bug inside of it. Now I always cut whole raw blackberries in half before eating them.
    7. I love reading about history but I can’t seem to retain historical facts or dates.
    8. I think it looks bad to have lots of recessed lights in an old house.
