    Surviving Work

(rules as they come to me)

    1. If a meeting has a specified end time, leave at that time, even if the meeting isn't over.
    2. If a meeting does not have a specified end time, call the meeting convener and ask when the meeting will end. Leave at the specified end time.
    3. Bring something to work on in case the meeting starts late.

    a little sun

    posted Tuesday, 21 August 2007
Yesterday was the first day of Work Week, the week of meetings and prep before classes begin. I always find Work Week incredibly frustrating—many redundant meetings, very little time for working on syllabi and class-related stuff, and an overall feeling of lots of busyness with little actual productivity.

I did manage to get a few things done, including my goals and objectives meeting with my supervisor, but my syllabi remain sadly untouched.

One very lovely thing happened—T and Lily picked me up at the end of the day with a big bouquet of sunflowers.
