    Surviving Work

    (rules as they come to me)

    1. If a meeting has a specified end time, leave at that time, even if the meeting isn't over.
    2. If a meeting does not have a specified end time, call the meeting convener and ask when the meeting will end. Leave at the specified end time.
    3. Bring something to work on in case the meeting starts late.

    Day 3 in San Francisco

    The conference continues to challenge and invigorate me. I went to three excellent sessions today (I hope to have time to blog about them in the next week), and I am so glad that I decided to take a hiatus from 4Cs.

    Today's highlights:

    • Began the day with a perfect organic cappuccino at The Organic Coffee Company.
    • Had an excellent workout in the hotel’s gigantic Fitness Center.
    • Had the freshest, most delicious éclair filled with vanilla bean cream at Beard Papa’s Café.
    • In a rare example of impeccable timing on the part of my family and me, I got back to the room with an éclair for Lily and T at exactly the moment that they returned from the Exploratorium hungry for éclairs.
    • Went to a session devoted entirely to Battlestar Galactica. Aaaaaaah.

    Does a day get any better than this?

    It was *so* excellent to run into your family at the Exploratorium! I couldn't believe it. Milo didn't realize that it was a coincidence.

    I really enjoyed hearing your daughter reading out loud in the car on the ride back!

    You're not helping my homesickness. If you are still there, go to the Musee Mechanique out at Land's End. It is one of my favorite places in SF.
