    Surviving Work

(rules as they come to me)

    1. If a meeting has a specified end time, leave at that time, even if the meeting isn't over.
    2. If a meeting does not have a specified end time, call the meeting convener and ask when the meeting will end. Leave at the specified end time.
    3. Bring something to work on in case the meeting starts late.

    Ethnograph it is

    posted Friday, 31 March 2006

I finally made a decision on which qualitative data analysis software to buy: Ethnograph. My only reservation about Ethnograph is that there is no user group or listserv of users. Otherwise, it looks like Ethnograph will do everything I need and then some.

I'm still struggling with defining categories. As I've said before, defining categories is hard for me. I'm hoping Ethnograph will make this task a little easier for me.

On a completely unrelated note: Lily is trying to decide on a theme for her May birthday party. She's considering all the usual ones for a rising 4-year old, like Dora, Peter Rabbit, etc., but she's added one to the mix that I'm sure is not typical: a rat theme. I wonder how many people will be interested in attending a rat party.

Glad you decided on the software!

*Love* the rat theme idea. Any kid who'd think of that has to be cool!

Also: I just noticed your "Surviving Work" thing on the sidebar. Ha!!

If only I could manage to be in town for her birthday, I would most certainly come as a rat, or a rat a la lily.
