in Chicago

This year, 4Cs coincides with my spring break, so we decided to spend the whole week in Chicago. We arrived last night and spent the night at T's sister's apartment. She lives right in Chicago, two blocks from an El station--very convenient. Today felt very much like a vacation day, with us sleeping in and having a leisurely breakfast. Lily is now watching cartoons on TV, which can only mean we are on vacation.

Tonight we have dinner plans with an old friend of T's. Wednesday is still wide open, with checking into the hotel being our main item of business that day (once I heard that the hotel was overbooked and might be sending some people with confirmed reservations to--gulp!--Indiana, I determinded that I would be standing on line to check in right at 3:00 on Wednesday). Thursday, Friday, and most of Saturday are conference days, and while I'm conferencing, T and Lily will be hanging out with T's parents, brother, and sister.

And then Monday, I'll be back at work, with March Madness behind me, and less than half of the semester left.
