While my blogging has been intermittent to nonexistent lately, I have found time to
- Cook a Thanksgiving dinner for ten people and miraculously have all the food ready at the same time. This is actually impossible, given that I had four items that needed to be in the oven at the same time and I only have one oven and it fits only two dishes. I can’t account for how I did it, all I know is that at 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving, all the food was hot and ready and I served it.
- Get all my holiday shopping done. This was actually pretty easy because I shop all year round, buying things online and in stores when I see something that is perfect for someone. I ordered two last things on amazon.com last week and was done.
- Develop an Editorial Board Project assignment for my Honors Comp 1 class. I divided the class into groups of five and each group is acting as an editorial board for another group’s final papers. Each student has another student acting as his or her Developmental Editor. Each student had two other students write detailed Reader Reports similar to what manuscript reviewers write. This means that each student will have three other students in the class who are intimately familiar with and invested in their final paper.
- Meet with four of the eight new English instructors for coffee to touch base about how the semester has gone. I’m meeting with the other four tomorrow and Friday.
- Schedule four interviews with potential adjunct instructors for spring.
- Lose an earring (and it was the first time I’d worn it, alas).
