    Surviving Work

(rules as they come to me)

    1. If a meeting has a specified end time, leave at that time, even if the meeting isn't over.
    2. If a meeting does not have a specified end time, call the meeting convener and ask when the meeting will end. Leave at the specified end time.
    3. Bring something to work on in case the meeting starts late.

    list lover's paradise

    posted Wednesday, 23 January 2008
My new tech find is gubb.net, a place to create, store, and share lists of all sorts. I have a packing list, a list of places to visit, and a list of life goals created so far. The nicest thing about gubb is that you can send updates to lists that have been started by text message, combining two of my most favorite things—texting and list-making.

Lists to create: semester start up stuff (recording new office hours in voice mail greeting, sending my workload form to my supervisor, etc.), Lily’s birthday party ideas (she starts planning her parties about eleven months in advance and the details trickle out over that period), and ideas for faculty development as Part Time Lead.

Here are some hints I found from other people using gubb.
