Mojitos for a Crowd
I have spent the last three years of my life perfecting a recipe for mojitos. The recipe I came up with is great for making mojitos for up to 6 people. However, last Saturday, I needed to make mojitos for 25 people and just couldn't imagine myself squeezing limes, etc. to make my usual mojitos. So, I came up with an alternative recipe that is easy to make for a crowd and almost as good as my secret recipe for small batches. Here's a recipe for mojitos for 25:
- 8 c. white rum (I use Bacardi silver)
- 4 c. frozen limeade concentrate, thawed (I use Minute Maid)
- 4 c. water
- about 2 big handfuls of mint leaves, washed
- 16 c. club soda
Combine the rum, limeade concentrate, and water in a huge container. Muddle the mint leaves well, then put in a blender with about a cup of the rum/limeade concentrate/water mixture and blend until the mint leaves are pulverized. Add that mixture into the huge container. Pour in the club soda and stir. Serve over ice.
that sounds more than a bit better than our concoction from the other
night. vodka, frozen strawberries and enough ice to jam up the smoothie
maker. they were pretty tasty but only made me want beer.
I've been wanting an easy mojito recipe for a crowd. I'll definitely be
recreating this for a party this weekend.
