In past semesters I’ve jotted down handwritten notes about what I want to do in classes on notebook paper. What tended to happen, though, is that I’d want to review what I was doing in a class at home and the notebook paper would be at work or vice versa. Keeping my class planning notes in Outlook allows me to access them from home and work.
When I have notes written in Outlook for a class I put two asterisks after the name of the appointment (I’ve been using ** to designate that I have notes on an appointment for years; I even got Amy to start doing it.)
Sometimes I print out the notes and bring them to class; other times I bring my laptop to class and just refer to the notes on it.
Liz, what a great idea!! (So simple!) Since Outlook can be hot sync'd to
a Palm Pilot, those notes would be available just about anywhere. Ok,
you've converted me, too! (And all this time, I've kept a paper-notebook
with lessons and reflections!)
Ah but aren't you concerned about not having access to the internet and
thus not being able to figure out what you are doing in class. One time
recently, I emailed myself my agenda/notes for class and when I got to work
the internet was down.
Amy, as long as I sync my computer before the network goes down, I can get
to my notes from my computer.
