random thoughts

• Campus email has been down for three and a half of the past five days. This does not bode well for fall semester.
• I took a Krav Maga class tonight that was fantastic. It was my first and will not be my last.
• I painted the ceiling and the inside of the closet in Lily’s room today. Tomorrow I’ll do the three walls that are not striped. Thursday is stripe day. Then I’ll have Friday to do the two doors and trim and move all her stuff back into her room.
• Since her room is being painted, Lily can’t sleep in there right now. Tonight, she set up a little bed of blankets and pillows in the hallway between her room and ours. Our house is small enough that that pretty much puts her within eight feet of the dining room, which is where I am sitting at my computer. Having her sleeping right there makes it a lot easier to watch her sleep--something I don’t get to do much of anymore since she sleeps in her own room now (we co-slept for four years)--and marvel at how amazing it is that she came out of my body. Damn.
