    Surviving Work

    1. If a meeting has a specified end time, leave at that time, even if the meeting isn't over.
    2. If a meeting does not have a specified end time, call the meeting convener and ask when the meeting will end. Leave at the specified end time.
    3. Bring something to work on in case the meeting starts late.

    SnagIt, my new toy

    I downloaded a 30-day free trial of SnagIt a couple days ago and have had all sorts of fun with it since. I used it for the screen shots in my GTD entry.

    The coolest thing about SnagIt is that when you’re getting ready to capture something on the screen, SnagIt actually “guesses” what you want captured, and in the two days I’ve been playing with it, it has always guessed correctly. Amazing. Once the image is captured, SnagIt allows many editing options, including trimming, resizing, rotating, magnifying, spotlighting, and others. SnagIt allows you to trim images pixel by pixel.

    SnagIt’s default setting is to save an image as a Portable Network Graphics file which can then be inserted into documents, emails, blog entries, etc.

    With my college’s fiscal year ending June 30, I’m hoping my dean will want to spend a few dollars to purchase SnagIt for me (in addition to Camtasia, which I've already been informed I will be getting).

    Hi Liz,

    I took a look at your screen captures at "my killer GTD setup" blog post. It looks great.

    Did you also know that Snagit remember your last save setting so if you want to create another output (for example .jpg) every time you can just change it when you save the image and then it will save in the same format every time.

    I also use a lot of premade capture profiles so I get the same in and output every time. For example when I do tutorials I use a setting that shrink to 75% + adds a shadow + save in .jpg 100% - and so the output is the same every time automatically.
