what the heck I'm up to lately

- Got back from Texas a couple days ago. It was hot and humid, but I managed to avoid the floods.
- My Carpal Tunnel Syndrome has been rearing its ugly head the last week, providing me with a wonderful excuse to not work on a chapter for an edited collection that I really should have been working on through July. I finally got motivated and started serious work on it this week, but the going is slow because of my CTS.
- I did one of those textbook TOC reviews in which in lieu of being paid, reviewers’ names are entered into a random drawing for something. I won!! I won a $200 gift card to Barnes and Noble.
- I need to bake a cheesecake for a wine tasting party we’re going to tomorrow. I’m trying to decide between Rose Levy Beranbaum’s banana cheesecake and a lemon cheesecake from the Cook’s Illustrated people. I’m leaning toward lemon but not committed.
- I’m almost done reading Collapse and Alias Grace.
- Amy and I had an excellent phone meeting with an acquisitions editor about our textbook prospectus.
