Compounding my confusion is the fact that I never know how to dress when it is the 40s. 30s I can handle—wear a coat. 50s I can handle—wear a jacket. But 40s. . . . coat or jacket? Scarf or no scarf? I suppose it depends on whether or not there is wind. But then, how much wind is enough wind to warrant a scarf?
All I know is that I need to bring an umbrella and layers.
And my other issue with this whole uncertain weather dilemma is New York
fashion. So, my black leather jacket is my most fashionable jacket/perfect
for NY, but will I freeze in it if it gets cold. A fleece simply won't do
(doesn't go with any evening wear), so I feel your pain. Thus, I have not
yet packed. I'd say jacket (with layers) and of course a scarf, but perhaps
not a heavy one.
